Designed by British designers Barber & Osgerby and named after the Japanese word for ‘firefly’, the collection is manufactured by Ozeki & Co Ltd, which has produced paper lanterns since 1891 including the Akari Light Sculptures by Noguchi.
The Hotaru range is constructed using traditional techniques and materials, with translucent Mulberry bark washi paper stretched over a bamboo structure.
It comes supplied with black lacquered steel ceiling rose, black Bakelite E27 lamp holder and 2m black cloth-covered cable.
